Waubgeshig Rice Books in Order

Waubgeshig Rice is a celebrated author and journalist from Wasauksing First Nation. His writing often draws from his Anishinaabe heritage, as seen in his critically acclaimed debut short story collection, Midnight Sweatlodge, which won an Independent Publishers Book Award in 2012. Rice's subsequent novels, Legacy and Moon of the Crusted Snow, have solidified his reputation as a masterful storyteller. The latter, published in October 2018, showcases his ability to weave complex narratives. As the host of Up North, CBC Radio's afternoon show for northern Ontario, Rice shares his voice with a wider audience. His dedication to First Nation storytelling has earned him the Anishinabek Nation's Debwewin Citation in 2014. Now based between Sudbury and Wasauksing, Rice continues to craft compelling stories that honor his roots and resonate with readers.
