Tim Dorsey is a renowned author, born in Indiana, and raised in Riviera Beach, a small town north of Miami, from the age of one. He graduated from Auburn University in 1983, serving as editor of the student newspaper, The Plainsman. After college, Dorsey began his journalism career as a police and courts reporter for The Alabama Journal from 1983 to 1987. He then joined The Tampa Tribune, taking on various roles including general assignment reporter, political reporter, and night metro editor, from 1994 to 1999. Leaving journalism in 1999, Dorsey dedicated himself to writing full-time, publishing twelve novels, including Florida Roadkill, The Big Bamboo, and Atomic Lobster. His works have been translated into several languages. Dorsey resides in Tampa with his family.
