She began her writing career in elementary school, crafting a tale of an orphan who opened a pizza restaurant. This early passion for words and food has persisted, evident in her first novel, "Riversong", which follows an adult orphan who opens a restaurant. With a degree in theatre from the University of Southern California, Thompson has dedicated her life to studying story, word craft, and character development.
