Susan P. Baker Books in Order

Award-winning author Susan P. Baker's early life was marked by resourcefulness and a love for reading. Her mother, an English war bride, encouraged her husband to complete his education, and he went on to earn a law degree using the GI Bill. Baker's family moved to Galveston when she was four, where her father taught her to read and they spent their days swimming, fishing, and crabbing in Offatts Bayou. Despite not having many books at home, Baker's mother ensured her children had access to reading materials, taking them to the Rosenberg Library every two weeks to check out the maximum number of books allowed. Baker's passion for writing began at a young age, but her parents discouraged her from pursuing a career in writing. Instead, she earned a BS in Criminal Justice and later became a Probation Officer. She balanced her work and law school, eventually graduating from law school in Houston. Baker's unique blend of experience and writing talent has led to the creation of several notable works, showcasing her ability to craft compelling stories from her life experiences.
