Susan Choi is a critically acclaimed novelist, essayist, and editor. Born in South Bend, Indiana, and raised in Houston, Texas, Choi's literary journey began with her studies in literature at Yale and writing at Cornell. As a fact-checker for The New Yorker, she honed her writing skills and refined her knowledge of storytelling. Her debut novel, The Foreign Student, won the Asian-American Literary Award for fiction, establishing her as a rising talent in the literary world. Her subsequent novels, including American Woman, earned her a Pulitzer Prize finalist nomination in 2004.
