Steve Alten is a prolific author of thriller and science fiction novels. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he pursued higher education at Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, followed by a Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware and a Doctorate of Education from Temple University. With a strong desire to support his family, he turned to writing, pouring his heart and soul into his first novel, MEG; A Novel of Deep Terror.
