His works have been translated into 13 languages and published by three of the Big 5 publishers: Simon and Schuster, Macmillan, and Hachette UK. Templin's writing is praised for being "action packed...harrowing...adrenaline laced" by the New York Times. Before pursuing a writing career, he completed the infamous Hell Week during Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training, where he honed his skills in combat and tactics. Templin also lectured as a tenured professor at Meio University in Japan, trained in the martial art of aikido, and holds a PhD in education.
