Shubnum Khan Books in Order

Shubnum Khan is a prolific and internationally renowned author. Born in Durban, she holds a degree in Media Studies and a Master's degree in English, which has served as a solid foundation for her accomplished writing career. Her first novel, Onion Tears, garnered significant attention, being shortlisted for the prestigious Penguin Prize for African Writing and the University of Johannesburg Debut Fiction Prize. Her work has been translated into multiple languages, including Italian, Vietnamese, Afrikaans, and Norwegian. As a Writing Fellow at Writers OMI in New York and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, Shanghai, she continues to hone her craft. Khan's recent accolades include being selected as the Octavia Butler Fellow for a woman of colour with Jack Jones Literary Arts, as well as being shortlisted for the Miles Moreland Fellowship for African Writers and the Mellon Fellowship at Stellenbosch University in 2019.
