Shirley Rousseau Murphy Books in Order

Shirley Rousseau Murphy is a prolific author of over 40 books, spanning multiple genres, including the award-winning Joe Grey cat mystery series, the Dragonbards Trilogy for adults, and novels for young adults and children. Born and raised in southern California, she developed a passion for horses through her father's training. Murphy's artistic talents extend to interior design, painting, and welded metal sculpture, which she exhibited in West Coast juried shows and traveling exhibitions in the western United States and Mexico. As a writer, Murphy draws inspiration from her diverse life experiences, including her international postings with her husband, who served with the U.S. Courts. The couple lived in Panama, Oregon, Atlanta, and northern Georgia, where Murphy wrote numerous children's and young adult books, earning five Dixie Council of Authors and Journalists awards. Now residing in Carmel, California, Murphy continues to write, with 19 books in the Joe Grey series and another in progress.
