Growing up on a farm as an only child, her childhood aspirations were initially focused on becoming a princess. After marriage, children, and a career with the United States Postal Service, Damsgaard discovered her passion for writing at the age of 48. Her first attempt at a romance novella was met with disappointment, but with encouragement from her late husband, she shifted her focus to mystery writing, leveraging her knack for deducing movie endings. Combining this talent with her lifelong interest in the paranormal, Damsgaard created the popular Ophelia and Abby series, which has become a significant part of her life's work. As a Postmaster in a small town, Damsgaard's writing has not only expanded her world but also provided a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
