S.D. Sykes is a British author of historical fiction, currently residing in Kent. Her roots, however, lie in Somerset and South London, where she spent her formative years. A graduate of Manchester University, Sykes' writing career was sparked by her attendance at the Curtis Brown novel writing course. This experience propelled her to complete her debut novel, Plague Land, a thrilling tale set in 14th Century England. In addition to her literary pursuits, Sykes has also explored the realms of radio and television, having developed screenplays with the support of Arts Council funding. Her passion for medieval history shines through in her Somershill Manor series, a captivating collection of novels that immerse readers in the rich tapestry of 14th Century England.
