Scott Lynch is a critically acclaimed American author known for his captivating fantasy novels. Born on April 2, 1978, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Lynch is the first of three brothers and has spent his life in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Prior to gaining recognition as a writer, he held various jobs, including dishwasher, busboy, waiter, web designer, office manager, and freelance writer. His breakthrough came in 2004 when Simon Spanton at Orion Books acquired his debut novel, <i>The Lies of Locke Lamora</i>.
