Samantha Mabry is a captivating storyteller born just four days before the passing of John Lennon. Growing up in Dallas, she immersed herself in the sounds of vinyl records, playing bass guitar in her bedroom after school, and indulged in her passion for music by writing fan letters to rock stars and doodling song lyrics into notebooks. Her love for literature was equally profound, as she devoured large, complex books. She now finds solace in the vast expanse of the West Texas desert. As a debut author, Mabry's first novel, A Fierce and Subtle Poison, was published by Algonquin Young Readers in the spring of 2016, marking the beginning of a promising writing career.
