Samantha Hunt is a multifaceted writer born in 1971 in Pound Ridge, New York, to a family of six siblings. Raised in a historic 1765 house overflowing with eclectic book collections, Hunt developed a deep passion for literature. Her mother is a painter and her father, an editor, instilled in her a love for storytelling. Hunt pursued her interests in literature, printmaking, and geology at Vermont's esteemed institutions before earning her MFA from Warren Wilson College. After relocating to New York City in 1999, she balanced writing with a variety of unconventional jobs. Her innovative literary career has earned her notable recognition, including a National Book Foundation award for authors under 35 and the Bard Fiction Prize in 2010.
