Roy MacGregor Books in Order
Award-winning journalist and author Roy MacGregor is a media inductee to the Hockey Hall of Fame, recognized with the Elmer Ferguson Award for excellence in hockey journalism in 2012. A lifelong hockey enthusiast, he has played all-star hockey, coached, and continues to play old-timers hockey in Ottawa, where he resides with his wife Ellen and their four grown children. MacGregor is a celebrated author of numerous hockey classics, including <i>Home Team: Fathers, Sons and Hockey</i>, shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for Literature. His notable works also include <i>Home Game</i> (co-written with Ken Dryden), <i>Road Games: A Year in the Life of the NHL</i>, <i>The Seven A.M. Practice</i>, and <i>Wayne Gretzky's Ghost: And Other Tales from a Lifetime in Hockey</i>. His children's series, Screech Owls, was launched with <i>Mystery at Lake Placid</i> in 1995, and in 2005, MacGregor was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
