Richard Matheson Books in Order

Richard Matheson is a celebrated author of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. Born to Norwegian immigrant parents in Allendale, New Jersey, he grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1943. During World War II, Matheson served as an infantry soldier. After the war, he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 1949 and relocated to California in 1951. He married in 1952 and has four children, including writers Chris, Richard Christian, and Ali. His debut short story, "Born of Man and Woman," published in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in 1950, catapulted him to fame. Matheson's prolific career spans over two decades, during which he produced numerous stories that blended genres.
