Peter King is a multifaceted English author, renowned for his mystery fiction, culinary expertise as a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, and extensive background in metallurgy. Throughout his illustrious career, he has excelled in various fields, including operating a tungsten mine, establishing South America's first steel processing plant, and prospecting for minerals worldwide. King's extraordinary experiences, spanning multiple continents, eventually led him to settle in Florida, where he led the design team for the rocket engines that propelled the Apollo astronauts to the moon. As a prolific author, King penned one-act plays and short mystery stories before transitioning to novel writing. His debut novel, The Gourmet Detective, launched a successful series, followed by seven more books featuring the character, including Dying on the Vine and Roux the Day. King also published historical mysteries featuring Jack London, beginning with Jewel of the North in 2001. He currently resides in Sarasota, Florida.
