Patti Smith is a writer, performer, and visual artist whose groundbreaking fusion of poetry and rock in the 1970s cemented her status as a trailblazer. A prolific musician, she has released twelve albums, with Horses, a landmark record, ranking among Rolling Stone's top one hundred albums of all time. Smith's artistic expression extends beyond music to visual art, with her first exhibit of drawings debuting at the Gotham Book Mart in 1973 and ongoing representation by the Robert Miller Gallery since 1978. Her notable books include Just Kids, winner of the National Book Award in 2010, and Auguries of Innocence, among others. Smith's achievements have been recognized by the French Ministry of Culture, which bestowed upon her the title of Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres in 2005, and by her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
