Nidhi Chanani is a versatile storyteller and artist, known for her vibrant narratives that transport readers to diverse worlds. Born in Calcutta and raised in suburban southern California, Nidhi's love for art and storytelling has been a constant companion throughout her life. After exploring various paths, she finally found her calling in illustration, cartooning, and writing. Her daily practice of creating one illustration every week, dubbed Every Day Love, helped her develop her unique narrative style and voice. As a Champion of Change, Nidhi was honored by the Obama Administration in 2012 for her contributions to the arts. Her debut graphic novel, Pashmina, released in 2017 to critical acclaim, earning starred reviews from prominent publications. The film adaptation of Pashmina, set to be directed by Gurinder Chadha, was announced by Netflix in 2019. Nidhi's extensive body of work includes the bilingual board book Shubh Raatri Dost/Good Night Friend and the picture book I Will Be Fierce, co-authored with Bea Birdsong.
