Born in Lima, Peru, she moved to the US at age four and grew up in Florida and the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. A University of Miami alumnus with a BA in Creative Writing, Natalia now resides in Texas. Her work has been featured in esteemed publications, including The New York Times, Bustle, Catapult, Electric Literature, Latina magazine, McSweeney's Publishing, and the Austin American-Statesman. A two-time award-winning author, Natalia's first novel, CHASING THE SUN, earned the title of Best Debut Book of 2014 by Latinidad. Her second novel, EVERYONE KNOWS YOU GO HOME, garnered the International Latino Book Award, the 2018 Jesse H. Jones Award for Best Work of Fiction from the Texas Institute of Letters, and a spot on Real Simple magazine's Best Books of 2018 list. Her debut YA novel, RUNNING, is forthcoming from Clarion Books/HMH.
