Nadifa Mohamed Books in Order

Nadifa Mohamed is a British author born in Hargeisa, now part of the Republic of Somaliland, in 1981. She relocated to England in 1986, where she resides permanently to this day. Mohamed's writing career has flourished, particularly after the publication of her debut novel, Black Mamba Boy, in 2010. This critically acclaimed work is deeply rooted in her father's experiences as a young man in the 1930s, traveling across various parts of Africa and Europe. Black Mamba Boy has garnered significant recognition, earning a longlisting for the Orange Prize for Fiction and the Dylan Thomas Prize, as well as a shortlisting for the John Llewellyn-Rhys Memorial Prize and the Guardian First Book Award. The novel has also won the prestigious 2010 Betty Trask Prize, solidifying Mohamed's position as a talented and innovative voice in contemporary literature.
