Monica Ferris is a versatile author with a diverse body of work. She has published under various pseudonyms, including Mary Monica Pulver and Margaret Frazer, often in collaboration with Gail Frazer. Born in Illinois, Ferris spent her formative years in Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school in Milwaukee. Her career as a journalist began in the U.S. Navy, where she served for six and a half years, including two years in London. Ferris later attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Married to a museum curator, she has sold over two dozen short stories to prominent anthologies and magazines worldwide. Notable anthologies featuring her work include The Mammoth Book of Historical Detectives and Unholy Orders. Her debut mystery novel, Murder at the War, was nominated for an Anthony Award in 1987.
