M.J. Carter Books in Order

M.J. Carter is a biographer, historian, and thriller writer. Educated at St. Paul's Girls' School and Exeter College, Oxford, she pursued a career in publishing and journalism before embarking on her first biography, Anthony Blunt: His lives, in 1994. The book, published in 2001, won the Royal Society of Literature Award and the Orwell Prize, and was shortlisted for several other prestigious awards. Her work, Anthony Blunt: His lives, was selected by the New York Times Book Review as one of the seven best books of 2002 in the US. Carter's subsequent biographies and thrillers have garnered significant attention, including The Three Emperors (2009), and her thriller series set in the early years of Queen Victoria's reign, beginning with The Strangler Vine in 2014 and The Infidel Stain in 2015.
