Malla Nunn is a critically acclaimed author known for her captivating novels that blend elements of mystery, crime, and historical fiction. Born in Swaziland, Nunn moved to Perth in the 1970s and later pursued higher education in Western Australia and the United States. Her early career in filmmaking saw her working on sets in New York, where she also penned her first screenplay and met her American husband. Returning to Australia, Nunn transitioned to writing and directing short films and corporate videos, earning recognition for her work at international festivals. Her debut novel, <i>A Beautiful Place to Die</i> (2008), won the Sisters in Crime Davitt Award, establishing her as a rising talent in the literary world. Nunn currently resides in Sydney with her family.
