Lilja Sigurðardóttir is a versatile and acclaimed Icelandic author, whose writing career spans multiple genres. She began her journey in 2008 by submitting a novel to the 'Icelandic Dan Brown' competition run by Bjartur publishing house, ultimately securing a publishing deal. Her first book, the crime novel 'Spor' (Steps), debuted in 2009, followed by 'Fyrirgefning' (Forgiveness) in 2010. Although she took a hiatus from literature to focus on theatre, her work flourished, earning her the Icelandic Theatre Award for Best Play of the Year in 2014 for 'Stóru börnin' (Big Babies). In 2015, she launched The Reykjavík Noir Trilogy with Forlagid, a series that catapulted her to international acclaim. The trilogy includes 'Gildran' (Snare), 'Netið' (Tangle), and other critically acclaimed works.
