Laura Lam is a Scottish-based author, having relocated from California to join her partner, whom she met online in her teenage years. Her writing career began while working various jobs, during which she penned the award-winning Micah Grey series, commencing with Pantomime in 2013. Praised by Robin Hobb for its "detailed and exotic world" and memorable characters, the series includes Shadowplay, Masquerade, and the Vestigial Tales. Lam's works also encompass near-future cyberpunk thrillers, such as False Hearts and Shattered Minds, as well as short stories featured in Scotland in Space, Nasty Women, Solaris Rising 3, and Cranky Ladies of History. She writes f/f romance under the pseudonym Laura Ambrose. In 2020, Lam released Goldilocks, a novel about the first all-female mission to an exosolar planet, and Seven Devils, a space opera co-authored with Elizabeth May, which follows a group of women as they challenge a patriarchal empire. Based in Scotland, Lam lectures in creative writing and continues to craft compelling stories that transport readers to new worlds.
