Kim Edwards Books in Order

Kim Edwards is a critically acclaimed American author, born and raised in Skaneateles, New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. She is a graduate of Colgate University and the University of Iowa, where she earned an MFA in Fiction and an MA in Linguistics. Edwards spent five years teaching in Asia, initially on the rural east coast of Malaysia, then in Japan, and finally in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. During this time, she began publishing short fiction, winning the Nelson Algren Award for her story "Sky Juice" in 1990. Her work has been featured in prominent periodicals, including Ploughshares, Zoetrope, and The Paris Review, earning numerous honors, such as a National Magazine Award and a Pushcart Prize. Edwards' story collection, The Secrets of a Fire King, was short-listed for the 1998 Pen/Hemingway Award and reissued by Penguin in 2007. She received a Whiting Writers' Award in 2002 and has taught in MFA programs at Warren Wilson and Washington University.
