Kent Harrington, a 4th generation San Franciscan, weaves together his diverse cultural heritage as an Irish-Jewish father and Guatemalan mother to craft gripping noir thrillers. Born into a military upbringing at the Palo Alto Military Academy, Harrington's early education laid the groundwork for his future writing career. He went on to earn a degree in Spanish Literature from San Francisco State University, drawing inspiration from his experiences living in Spain and Latin America. Noted for his atmospheric and suspenseful storytelling, Harrington's breakthrough novel, Dark Ride, published in 1997, cemented his place in the noir genre. Praised by Booklist as "as noir as it gets," his follow-up novel, Dia De Los Muertos, is now regarded as a modern crime classic. His subsequent works, including Red Jungle, set in Guatemala, and The Good Physician, have drawn comparisons to literary giants Graham Greene and John le Carré.
