Jonathan Gash is a British crime writer, penning novels under his own name and pseudonyms. As a renowned author, he is best known for his Lovejoy series of novels. In addition to his crime fiction, Gash has written the medical thriller <i>The Incomer</i> under the pseudonym Graham Gaunt. With a diverse background in medicine, he trained as a doctor and worked as a general practitioner and pathologist. His military career saw him serve in the British Army, rising to the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Gash went on to become the head of bacteriology at the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for the University of London from 1971 to 1988. His notable achievements include winning the John Creasey Award in 1977 for <i>The Judas Pair</i>, the first novel in the Lovejoy series.
