John Templeton Smith is a seasoned writer and educator with a diverse background in the military, aviation, and journalism. Having served in the RAF and worked as an airline pilot, he transitioned into aerospace journalism in his 30's. Smith's writing career gained momentum with the mentorship of bestselling thriller author Desmond Bagley. Under Bagley's guidance, Smith penned ten novels, including his debut, Skytrap, published by WW Norton, NY in 1984 as John Smith. He also taught Creative Writing at Oklahoma City University during the late 1980's, where he wrote the critically acclaimed "John Winter Trilogy": 'White Lie', 'Saigon Express', and 'Then a Soldier'.
