John Flanagan is a renowned Australian author, born with a passion for writing that has spanned decades. Growing up in Sydney, he nurtured his creative aspirations, which were eventually discovered by a company director who shared his unflattering opinion of a senior executive. This serendipitous encounter led to Flanagan's training in copywriting, a career he pursued for two decades. He went on to develop the hit television sitcom Hey Dad!, which aired for eight years. Flanagan's writing career reached new heights with the creation of the Ranger's Apprentice series, penned for his son Michael over ten years ago and still ongoing. He currently resides in Manly, Australia, with his wife, and is blessed with two grown daughters and four grandsons.
