John Crowley Books in Order

John Crowley is a critically acclaimed American author, born in 1942 in Presque Isle, Maine. His diverse upbringing, spanning Vermont, northeastern Kentucky, and Indiana, has significantly influenced his writing. Crowley's multifaceted career has also included work in documentary films, an occupation he continues to pursue. As a novelist, he has published 15 volumes of fiction, including his debut novel, The Deep, in 1975, and the fourth installment of his ambitious Ægypt series, Endless Things, in 2007. He has received the Award in Literature from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and has taught creative writing at Yale University since 1993. Crowley's notable works, such as Engine Summer and Little, Big, have received widespread acclaim, with the latter earning praise from Ursula Le Guin for its redefinition of fantasy.
