J.G. Farrell is a Liverpool-born novelist of Irish descent, renowned for his thought-provoking historical fiction. His critically acclaimed Empire Trilogy, comprising Troubles, The Siege of Krishnapur, and The Singapore Grip, masterfully explores the complex consequences of British colonial rule. This ambitious work has earned him widespread recognition and accolades. Notably, The Siege of Krishnapur won the prestigious 1973 Booker Prize. In 2010, the Lost Man Booker Prize was awarded posthumously to Troubles, a novel that had been overlooked in its original eligibility period.
