Jeanette Winterson Books in Order

Jeanette Winterson is a celebrated British novelist, born in 1959 in Manchester, England. Adopted and raised in Accrington, Lancashire, she drew from her strict Pentecostal Evangelist upbringing to craft her critically acclaimed debut novel, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, published in 1985. Winterson graduated from St Catherine's College, Oxford, and moved to London, where she worked as an assistant editor at Pandora Press. A leading voice in British fiction, she was recognized as one of the 20 "Best of Young British Writers" in a joint promotion by Granta and the Book Marketing Council. Winterson has adapted Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit for BBC television and written several screenplays, including Great Moments in Aviation, directed by Beeban Kidron for BBC2. Her work is widely published, with editions in 28 countries, and she is a regular contributor to newspapers and journals, with a column in The Guardian.
