Jane Mary Gardam OBE is a celebrated British author of children's and adult fiction, renowned for her captivating storytelling and profound insights into the human experience. With a distinguished career spanning multiple genres, she reviews for the Spectator and the Telegraph, and writes for BBC radio. A devoted writer, she has won numerous literary accolades, including two Whitbread Awards. Her son, Tim Gardam, is the Principal of St Anne's College, Oxford. Gardam has been awarded the Heywood Hill Literary Prize for her lifetime contribution to the enjoyment of literature and has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize.
