Jane Aiken Hodge is a versatile author with a distinguished career spanning multiple genres. Born in the USA and raised in the UK, she was educated at Oxford, where she read English, and later earned a master's degree from Radcliffe College, Harvard University. Before becoming a full-time writer, Hodge worked as a civil servant, journalist, publishers' reader, and reviewer. Her notable works include biographies of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, as well as the book "Passion and Principle," which explores women in the Regency period. She has penned over twenty historical novels set in the eighteenth century, including "Polonaise," "The Lost Garden," and "Savannah Purchase," a beloved trilogy set during and after the American War of Independence. As a feminist writer, Hodge enjoys exploring the borderland between mystery and novel, and her work continues to be published by Severn House.
