James McClure Books in Order

James McClure is a renowned South African-born British author and journalist. He is best known for his gripping Kramer and Zondi mysteries, which delve into the complexities of post-apartheid South Africa. McClure's diverse background and experiences have greatly influenced his writing, as he was educated in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, and later worked as a commercial photographer, teacher, and crime reporter. His career in journalism took him to the Natal Witness, Natal Mercury, and Natal Daily News, before he relocated to Britain with his family in 1965. McClure's writing career flourished, with his debut novel, The Steam Pig, winning the CWA Gold Dagger in 1971. He went on to write several critically acclaimed novels, including the award-winning Rogue Eagle, as well as numerous short stories and non-fiction works, such as Spike Island: Portrait of a Place and The Shape by Jutta.
