James Lovegrove is a prolific and acclaimed author of novels and children's books. With a degree in English Literature from Oxford, he honed his writing skills and set his sights on publishing his first novel. That goal was achieved within two months of graduating, as his six-week written novel, The Hope, was accepted by Macmillan just a fortnight later. The novel's concept, inspired by a cross-Channel ferry journey, explores a world in microcosm on an ocean liner. Lovegrove's subsequent works, including The Foreigners, delve into experiences gathered from a round-the-world trip, particularly his observations of the sex industry in Bangkok. Notably, his co-written novel Escardy Gap with Pete Crowther has become a cult favourite, ranking among the top fifty SF/Fantasy novels of all time, as voted by SFX readers.
