Hermione Lee is a renowned academic and writer, distinguished by her remarkable contributions to English literature. Born in London, she pursued her higher education at Oxford. Her distinguished academic career spans various esteemed institutions, including the College of William & Mary, Liverpool University, and the University of York, where she held various positions, ultimately becoming Professor of English Literature. As the Goldsmiths' Chair of English Literature and Fellow of New College at the University of Oxford from 1998-2008, Lee's expertise and influence soared. In 2008, she was elected President of Wolfson College, University of Oxford. Lee is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, the British Academy, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and holds Honorary Fellowships and Doctorates from several prestigious institutions.
