Harold Schechter Books in Order

Harold Schechter is a renowned true crime writer known for his in-depth explorations of serial killers. He holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York in Buffalo, where his academic pursuits laid the foundation for his writing career. As a professor of American literature and popular culture at Queens College of the City University of New York, Schechter continues to inspire and educate students. His nonfiction works, including Fatal, Fiend, Deviant, Deranged, and Depraved, are considered historical true-crime classics. Schechter has also achieved critical acclaim with his mystery series featuring Edgar Allan Poe, which includes The Hum Bug, Nevermore, and The Mask of Red Death.
