Born Susan Jane Kozak in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of Dorothy (Taraldsen), a university music teacher, and Joseph Aloysius Kozak, an attorney. As a novelist, she is known for creating the character of Wollie Shelley, a greeting card designer and amateur sleuth, in a series of four novels: Dating Dead Men, Dating Is Murder, Dead Ex, and A Date You Can't Refuse. Her work has garnered recognition, including a 2004 Agatha Award for best first novel for Dating Dead Men. Kozak resides in Agoura Hills, California, with her family. With a background in acting, she has now dedicated her time to writing, drawing inspiration from her life and experiences.
