Hannah Kent is a critically acclaimed Australian author and publisher, born in Adelaide in 1985. Her debut novel, Burial Rites (2013), catapulted her to international recognition, being translated into 30 languages and earning her a spot on the shortlists of the Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction and the Guardian First Book Award. The novel's success was cemented by its wins of the ABIA Literary Fiction Book of the Year, the Indie Awards Debut Fiction Book of the Year, and the Victorian Premier's People's Choice Award, as well as its shortlisting for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
