Gerald Seymour is a British writer, born on 25 November 1941 in Guildford, Surrey. As the son of two literary figures, Seymour was educated at Kelly College in Tavistock, Devon, and later earned a BA Hons degree in Modern History from University College London. Initially a journalist, he joined ITN in 1963, reporting on major global events, including the Great Train Robbery, Vietnam, and the Munich Olympics massacre. His first novel, Harry's Game, was published in 1975, marking the beginning of a full-time writing career in the West Country. Seymour's work has been adapted into numerous television films, including Oscar-winning One Day in September, which featured the Munich Olympics massacre. His novels, such as The Glory Boys, The Contract, Red Fox, Field Of Blood, A Line In The Sand, and The Waiting Time, have been successfully adapted for television.
