Gerald "Gerry" Malcolm Durrell is a renowned British naturalist, zookeeper, and television presenter. Born in India in 1925, he is the younger brother of celebrated writers Lawrence Durrell, Leslie Durrell, and Margaret Durrell. Durrell's childhood on the Greek island of Corfu, surrounded by its diverse wildlife, profoundly shaped his writing career. His Corfu trilogy, which includes "My Family and Other Animals," "Birds, Beasts and Relatives," and "The Garden of the Gods," showcases his wry humour and keen insight into both human and animal nature.
