George Saunders Books in Order

George Saunders is a critically acclaimed author, born on December 2, 1958, in a Chicago suburb. He earned a B.S. in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 1981 and later an MA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University in 1988. Saunders' diverse professional background includes stints as a technical writer, geophysical engineer, and oil exploration crew member, as well as time spent working in various service and creative industries. His experiences have profoundly influenced his writing, which often explores themes of social justice, morality, and the human condition. Saunders has been a dedicated educator, serving as an Assistant Professor in the Syracuse University Creative Writing Program since 1997. He has also held visiting writer positions at numerous institutions, including the Vermont Studio Center, University of Georgia, and Brown University.
