Freeman Wills Crofts Books in Order
Freeman Wills Crofts is a renowned Irish writer, celebrated for his prolific output of mystery novels and short stories. Born of English stock in Dublin, he was educated at Methodist and Campbell Colleges in Belfast before pursuing a career in civil engineering, apprenticed to his uncle, Berkeley D Wise, chief engineer of the Belfast and Northern Counties Railway. After rising through the ranks to become a district engineer and chief assistant engineer, Crofts began writing in his spare time, publishing his first novel, 'The Cask', which sold over 100,000 copies within two decades. As his writing career flourished, he took up writing full-time and went on to produce a mystery novel almost every year, often incorporating his love of travel and transport into his plots.
