Eva Stachniak Books in Order

Eva Stachniak, a celebrated author, was born in Wrocław, Poland, and relocated to Canada in 1981. She began her career in Canada, working for Radio Canada International and later taught English and humanities at Sheridan College. Her notable writing career kicked off with the debut novel Necessary Lies, which earned her the prestigious Canada First Novel Award in 2000. Her Catherine the Great series, starting with The Winter Palace, gained international recognition, including a #1 international bestseller spot and a spot on the Washington Post's 2011 list of most notable fiction. Stachniak's subsequent novels, Empress of the Night and The Chosen Maiden, solidified her reputation as a masterful storyteller, with the latter published in January 2017.
