Elizabeth Acevedo Books in Order

Elizabeth Acevedo is a critically acclaimed poet and novelist. Born to Dominican immigrants, she draws from her heritage in her writing. With a BA in Performing Arts from the George Washington University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland, Acevedo has honed her craft through over fourteen years of performance poetry experience. A National Poetry Slam Champion and fellow of Cave Canem and CantoMundo, she has also participated in the prestigious Callaloo Writer's Workshop. Her notable works include Beastgirl & Other Origin Myths, winner of the 2016 Berkshire Prize, and her debut novel, The Poet X, which has received widespread acclaim. Her writing often explores themes of identity, culture, and social justice.
