Elisabeth Elliot Books in Order

Elisabeth Elliot is a renowned author and missionary, born in Belgium to a family of missionaries. She spent her early years in the United States, where her father worked as an editor of the influential Sunday School Times publication. Elliot's upbringing instilled in her a strong foundation for her future work in linguistics and missionary endeavors. She went on to attend Wheaton College, where she studied classical Greek, a skill that would later enable her to develop a writing system for unwritten languages. In Ecuador, Elliot met Jim Elliot, whom she married in 1953. Together, they worked among the Quichua Indians until Jim's tragic death in 1956, along with four other missionaries, at the hands of the Aucas. Elliot continued her work, raising their young daughter Valerie and sharing their story with the world through her writing.
