Eleanor Catton is a celebrated New Zealand author known for her diverse and accomplished writing career. Born in Canada in 1985 to a New Zealand father, Catton spent her early years in Yorkshire before relocating to Canterbury, New Zealand with her family. She studied English at the University of Canterbury, then honed her craft with a Master's in Creative Writing from The Institute of Modern Letters, Victoria University of Wellington. Her first novel, <i>The Rehearsal</i>, emerged as her master's thesis. Catton further expanded her expertise with an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and an MA in fiction from the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University of Wellington. She currently shares her knowledge as a creative writing instructor at the Manukau Institute of Technology.
